Are you really interested in long pants for the desert, jungle, or backcountry that are superlight, tough, and airy? With the Eco-Mesh Pants, you now have amazing temperatureregulating features. Constructed out of two-ply, 3-oz. Duralite nylon fabric, the tricked-out elements are 27-inch side zippers concealed behind vertical bands, which provide air flow to that one troubling hot spot encountered by most hikers: the crotch. Behind the tucked-away zippers are soft-mesh panels whose duty is to funnel air in and around your nether regions. With the zippers closed, the abrasion- resistant Eco-Mesh Pants resemble a traditional pair of khakis. Because the fabric is now treated with Insect Shield® technology, you have protection against mosquitoes, biting flies, and ticks. The fit is enhanced by elastic side panels at the waist, and sports two on-seam front pockets, 2 zippered back pockets. Super packable, with a 15-minute maximum drying time. Includes a new side-zippered security pocket.
I love these pants Im a long distance hiker and need durable light breathable pants with an insect treatment and the Eco-Mesh Pant tick all the boxes. This is my sixth or seventh pair. Dont get me wrong these pants usually last a couple thousand miles of backcountry walking for me but I often do over 2000 miles a year on foot. Tough capable lightweight pants that do the job.
I ordered two pair of these several years ago along with a few more styles. They are nice and lightweight breathe well obviously and have held up for several years of summer hiking and backpacking trips. Even though they are still in great shape Ive aged and expanded some so I bought another larger pair. But if I get back down to my previous size I'll be right back wearing the older ones for many more years.
Nice airy lightweight good fit and fashionable. Comes with the belt.
Awesome pants. Function flawlessly and venting is spectacular. This is not my first pair. They are put to good use when I travel to Arizona and even in California.
Eco-Mesh are my "must have" hiking pants. I can ventilate with side zips roll them up or both. Insect shield is a must for me. For light weight fabric they are quite tough and long wearing They also dry quite quickly so I don't mind taking them out in the wet. if it is going to be wet and cold I add a mesh base layer. If you are exerting yourself in the cold exhausting out sweat can help keep you from getting chilled when you stop
This is the 4th or 5th pair of Eco-Mesh Pants I have purchased in the last 10 years. Its not because they dont last because they do but because I am a thru-hiker and they get used a lot. 5 months of 20 mile days on the PCT. 6 months of 20 mile days on the CDT. The Arizona Trail Colorado Trail Oregon Coast Trail and on and on. They keep the sun off bugs at bay and wear like iron yet are light weight. I love these pants
I wasn't expecting to love a pair of pants so much. But these are fantastic for hot muggy weather in tick infested areas. We had a bad tick season last year and I got a deer tick on my leg from wearing shorts around our property. I ordered a pair of these and wore them all summer. The eco-mesh is great for keeping cooler. My only complaint - I ordered a 30' inseam and there's no way on God's green earth that these are a 30 leg... I could have sent them back but I didn't want to deal with the cross border hassles as I am in Canada.
Love these for back-country and general hiking. The zip panels are excellent and I very much like the pocket assortments and where. I own two pair my only caution is that they might not hold up real well if you do a lot of scramble-type stuff but I've yet to destroy a pair doing so......
Love these pants for warm weather hikes Wore these on two backpacking trips in AZ and Utah. Normally I wear shorts hiking in warm temps but will all the prickly vegetation you encounter in the desert you want long pants with super long leg vents like these. Kept me cool while also protecting my legs. Living in Florida I appreciate the Insect Shield treatment when the sun goes down and the bugs come calling.I've used these pants pretty hard for the last two years with no signs of wear. Just ordered a pair for my wife.
I have used these pants for hiking and backpacking for many years. I just bought my third pair. Features I really like are the insect protection the ample ventilation and the zippered pockets. Ticks are a big worry in the northeast. I wear pants instead of shorts to help avoid them. Tuck the cuffs into my socks. This means that the ventilation is essential. The insect shield makes them even better. The zippered pockets means that I can be sure that I will lose neither my wallet nor my car keys while in the woods. Over all an excellent pair of pants.
