Rappelling waterfalls, descending steep scree infested inclines, long trail hiking with minimalist gear list.  Well, meet the new Xtreme Adventure Shorts.  The shorts that can take on the toughest the day can throw at you. Made of tough 2ply 3oz Nylon with extra tough Cordura reinforced seat and front pocket trim.  Lots of handy pockets too! (see callouts). 8.5 inch inseam.  Now here is the coolest feature: 6-inch zippers run along the side seams at the bottom of the shorts that open to mesh panels to give you even more room to feed your adrenalin. Now that’s a short!

Nice shorts But I prefer the Bitter End shorts over these. I have every short RailRiders makes and these are my second favorite design. I do like all the pockets and of course these are built to be durable like all RailRider products they just don't fail over time.

Best shorts for late Spring Summer and Fall for rugged wear and for casual dressing. I wore my first pair so much last year that I am afraid that I will wear them out so I bought another. So sad to learn that RR has discontinued these. I hope they reconsider.

Excellent arrangement of nine deep pockets six with zippers make these the most secure shorts I own. Construction and finishing is excellent. Hot weather ventilation side zips turned out to be quite effective.The included nylon belt with easy snap closure is also nice bonus. Unfortunately the nylon webbing used is a bit slippery and thin resulting in a slow steady loosening of the belt when the shorts are weighed down with a cell phone and other heavy objects in the pockets.

I've always liked RailRider's pants and shorts. They're well made and extremely useful. I ordered the X-Treme Adventure shorts looking for something a bit more sleek than my RR cargo shorts. I still needed to have sufficient storeage for my phone keys and essentials. I use these for the gym and PT so they also need to allow for easy movement while keeping my "gear" safe and secure.These do the job nicely. The zip up sides are a great extra feature. I'm very pleased with these new shorts.

Great fit and fabric like all the other Rail Rider Products. I have an older pair and really like the change to mostly zippered pockets and no Velcro.

Ordered a pair in loden of these a couple of weeks ago for an upcoming vacation. As with all of my previous RR items you just can't beat these shorts. Just returned to the site today and ordered another pair this time in slate. These are my new favorite shorts. Period. Good job RR.

Fit very well. The zip up the side is less exciting than the picture of it looks. I like them.
