Just got second pair in a different color. What happened to the first pair Nothing. They were my go to pants for walking around Portugal and parts of France. Great travelers except if you need to get really fancy. Pickpocket proof laugh at stains comfy on long plane train rides (double butt protection). Travel light travel well. RR can't be beat.

hiked a lot at Palo Duro Canyon when tons of bugs and big flies appeared after the big rains in May. These pants alone kept the bugs away. Lightweight with freedom of movement like all Railriders gear

I expected these to be a bit heavier--they are a little light for bushwacking. That said they are very comfortable in the recent hot weather. Fit was good (5ft 10in 200lb male). The included belt is pretty useless. It's hard to get it back into the belt loops because its not very stiff and it twists easily. I took mine off and use a more robust belt.

Nice light weight pants. I fear they may be too light for the kind of basset hunting we d. We go through briars and thick cover as the bassets chase rabbits. We dont shoot the rabbits the hounds just chase them. Well see this fall. Wish they would come in different waist sizes instead of small medium etc. other than these issues I like these pants. Thanks.

These pants continue to impress. I bought a pair last year and took them on a tough 30 day solo canoe trip in Canada. I had a pair of backup pants but never used them. This year I didn't even bother taking a pair of backup pants on my 42 day solo Canadian trip that reached to the Nunavut border. I used the same pair as last year and they did great. They're a nice combination of lightweight and tough. Light enough they dry quickly but tough enough they can handle bushwhacking through portages without more than a few small tears that will be easily repaired over the winter. The butt and knee reinforcements are appreciated as I spend a lot of time kneeling and sitting on rock. A quick note about pant length I have a 34" inseam so ordered the long version. It's a good length for daily wear but not for canoe tripping. On last year's trip the bottom pant leg was often wet and muddy from dragging on the ground and was worn by my heal. Over the winter I shortened them about 1 1/2" and that was a big improvement. Looks too short when wearing shoes but fine with high boots. But most importantly it's a lot more functional out in the field. When it comes time to order another pair I think I'll just get regular length.

I bought these pants about 2 years ago as the women's pants do not meet my needs too short and not enough pockets nor are a long enough I need at least a 34 inch length. I primarily wear them when riding my horse in the desert and local mountains. We go through brush and trees that I know are filled with ticks and other insects. I started hiking in late March and wear them to protect my legs from the tall grasses and brush that carry ticks. I have been pleased with the pants as I have not come home with ticks (also have a shirt with insect shield). Plus I have a place for my cell phone keys wallet knife camera etc. Three weeks ago I was hiking in Pipes Canyon near Pioneertown in S. California. The terrain was moderate to difficult with lots of rocks and shale. Worried about falling I started scooting over some of the larger granite rocks on a downhill slope and "just knew" that these pants were going to be shredded on the seat. There was not a nick a tear or even a rough feeling on these pants. These pants are tough and I've recommended them to the woman I hike with. I wish you would make these pants the same except in a woman's size with longer lengths. In the meantime I will continue to the use the Men's Bushwacker pants and will order another pair in the next few months.

These are my favorite outdoor pants But I had to ding one star due to a problem that seems to exist across the RailRiders brand the damn snug crotch I have 4 (or 5) pairs or RR pants and all of them have the issue of being very restrictive in the crotch limiting movement and most recently problematic causing me to split the crotch while kneeling at a creek. I sewed them back up which of course makes them even snugger.BUT despite that I just ordered another pair to replace them one size bigger hoping they'll be just a little looser (though experience has shown they won't). But the rest of the package can't be beat. Bugs stay away brush and brambles don't phase them and they'll stand up to extended wear in the field.
